Riverdale, a dark and mysterious take on the funny Archie comics have graced the US TV for more than a month now. In fact, the first season just ended recently. For the past couple of months, I’ve been low-key obsessed with the show. Riverdale gives its audience an interesting plot and refreshing cast you’d want to follow. You’ll not only see a different Archie (I’m talking about abs and charms here) but you’ll also get a brooding, angsty, loner boy Jughead played by Cole
my spouse Sprouse!
Just like my fave TV series of all time, Gossip Girl, Riverdale also boasts diversity in each character when it comes to aesthetics. This is what led me to make this blog post! I thought to myself, what if I dress up and portray the powerful females in this show? Who doesn’t love to dress up right? This idea gave me a chance to rummage my (and my mom’s) closet for pieces that would fit each character.
Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Cheryl Blossom are the three main female cast in the show and they have completely different styles — this made a bit of a challenge for me. Nevertheless, I did it. I managed to make three different looks inspired by the characters aesthetics!
1.) Veronica Lodge
The IT girl from the upper east side of New York City. Veronica is an heiress to the lodge industries which speaks a lot to the way she dresses. She is often in elegant dresses and short skirts that are very upscale for the small town Riverdale. You can say that she and Betty have opposite aesthetics. The iconic pearl necklace from daddy Hiram Lodge can’t also be missed!

2.) Cheryl Blossom
The bombshell Cheryl. Her style stands out and she is mostly in red. She has this dark (almost creepy) vibe personality wise and it also reflects in the way she dresses. Cheryl dresses to impress, ALWAYS! She considers herself an icon.
3.) Betty Cooper
The stereotypical girl-next-door. Pretty, straight As, prim and proper. You may say she is perfect but careful she hates that word! She might go ‘dark’ on you. The show costume designer/stylist kept comic Betty’s signature pink! She has this 50’s vibes going on with a modern twist. And don’t forget her signature sleek high pony (that gave me a headache tbh)!

This post took me awhile to finally post, to be honest. It was just very intimidating! Anyway, I’m glad I did it. I actually want to do more content like this. It also serves as a challenge for me! I hope you like my interpretations of the Riverdale babe’s aesthetic. This post made me realized that I am more of a Betty. I have tons of clothes that are similar to hers. If you haven’t seen Riverdale yet, you better start now! Season one has 13 episodes that you can binge watch on Netflix!
Disclaimer: I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL STYLIST. I DID THIS OUT OF MY OWN INTEREST. THESE ARE NOT THE EXACT CLOTHES THEY WORE ON THE SHOW BUT MY INTERPRETATION OF THEIR STYLE.
